We directly employ over over 2,600 people in Australia and New Zealand, and around 4,500 in our operations in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, India and Malaysia. An important part of our role is to improve the quality of our customers’ and our peoples’ lives by helping them to “Be Life Confident”.
“Be Life Confident” is about reassuring people to feel that they can progress and grow. Our goal is to provide a work environment that enables AXA people to “Be Life Confident”.
In Hong Kong “iCare” encourages staff to take the initiative and responsibility to care about themselves, colleagues, customers and the company. A series of activities were launched including a “Brain Gym Workshop”, moral education programme, and a range of e-learning opportunities.
Staff engagement
We continue to focus on succession, development and leadership. Over the past few years we have emphasised a shared responsibility, between manager and employee, for career management.
Our leadership activities have been underpinned by a leadership competency framework, which is incorporated into individual performance objectives for all leadership positions. Reflecting our focus on leadership, over 300 employees complete our leadership programmes every year. In Australia we continued our participation in community leadership programmes.
AXA News, a magazine for our Australian and New Zealand businesses, and regular updates on the intranet, provide employees with information on how the business is performing, new developments, AXA Hearts in Action activities and other articles of interest.
In Asia, we have a quarterly electronic magazine called AXAlerate. Together with newsletters and various intranets, our employees in Asia receive information on business performance, new developments, product launches, community activities and staff events.
Monitoring and increasing employee engagement
Every year the Global AXA Group conducts ‘SCOPE’, a worldwide employee engagement survey. Over 4,300 AXA APH employees, and 67,000 employees within the Global AXA Group complete the survey every year.
