Senior management changes at AXA National Mutual Holdings

Les Owen, Group Chief Executive, AXA National Mutual Holdings, today announced some management changes.

Andy Penn, formerly Chief Executive, International has been appointed to a new position as director of a major transformation programme to develop and implement strategies to generate sustainable, profitable revenue growth in Australia and New Zealand.

Francois de Meneval has been appointed as Chief Executive, International with responsibility for the life operations (other than AXA China Region) in Asia.

Tony Summers, Chief Financial Officer, has resigned from the Group for personal reasons and has decided to leave with immediate effect.

Commenting on these changes Les Owen said

“We have much to do to improve the performance of our core business in Australia and New Zealand. We are developing our action plans, full details of which will be presented with our interim results. I am delighted that Andy Penn will be taking a leading role in this.

I am also pleased that an executive of the calibre of Francois de Meneval is joining our management team. Francois has been in Australia for 18 months and has significant experience of our Asian businesses.

I would like to thank Tony Summers for his contribution over the last
4 years. We will be making an external appointment to the role of Chief Financial Officer – details will be announced as soon as possible. In the meantime the senior finance team will report directly to me.”
